It offers exceptional resistance to wear. Silicon carbide is also outstanding in applications where thermal variations occur.

Nitride Bonded silicon carbide also provides good resistance against thermal variations. It is often used as a lining against abrasion and corrosion.

Oxide Bonded silicon carbide has good resistance to wear and excellent refractory properties including exceptional thermal shock resistance.
